Beaufortain - Gravel escape
A one-day gravel cycling expedition

A taste of Escape Beaufortain
The day's objective was multifaceted yet remarkably simple. Let's be honest, personal enjoyment was paramount: the pleasure of discovery, new trails, and breathtaking views. This desire to explore beyond, this unique sense of adventure in gravel riding, breaks the mold. But why not combine business with pleasure? Convinced that the Beaufortain region is an incredible playground for outdoor enthusiasts, we had already published a two-day weekend getaway earlier this year, including an overnight stay in a mountain refuge, led by Jérôme Furbeyre, whose expertise with gravel maps is undeniable. Therefore, the second objective of the day was, of course, scouting, photography, and writing to whet your appetite, dear readers and supporters of the Beaufortain. Matchy brand.

With 80km and 2800m of elevation gain, the route was condensed, allowing for a better understanding of the required skill level and the potential breakdown of the ride. We're not really into spoilers, and as the title "sneak peek" suggests, it's best to keep some for yourself, as nothing beats the personal pleasure of discovery. What we can say is that it's beautiful and surprisingly "rolling," which is often a concern when discussing alpine gravel riding. Nestled between Mont Blanc, the magical atmosphere of the Cormet de Roselend pass, and the Italian glaciers, we spent the entire day riding between 1800 and 2600m altitude, where the calm and the landscapes offer an unparalleled escape. The pure joy of cycling, without worrying about your average speed or the dangers of the road...

Remember to reserve your place
Let yourself be guided! Gravel riding is beautiful, it's an adventure, but you can't change the fact that a great trail is rarely (if ever) a one-off. And that's where we come in. Let yourself be guided, focus solely on your effort and the joy of discovery. No need to think, "Oh no, it was to the left," or "Darn, I don't see it, and it doesn't go through here after all"... Simply enjoy the pleasure of riding, without worrying about anything else. If the photos, the location, and the idea of riding without a care in the world appeal to you, then consider booking your spot for our next getaway, from August 27th to 28th. Accompanied by Jérôme, whom you can follow with your eyes closed, the getaway also includes accommodation with half-board and the photo package.
